Pack Your Bags

If you are coming to Canada, there are a couple of stuff that you need to bring and do. I hope my colleagues can add other items to the list. This is just from me. Some of the things that people don't usually think about but they wished that they brought them along.

  1. Bring your ICPU notes. They help. Plus, do a bit of review before coming here.
  2. Bring Islamic books as quick references e.g. books about solah, fasting, taharah, etc.
  3. Educate yourself on the diverse Fiqh in Islam. Seriously, you're going to need it.
  4. Use roller bags because you'll be walking a lot. Don't be too fussy about brands. Mine got broken when I first arrived here. The workers can be a bit rough.
  5. The petty stuff can be useful at times e.g. rubber bands, a small toolbox, torchlight, etc.
  6. Things that you don't need to buy specifically from Canada e.g. utensils, soap, lotion (this is essential!), can opener, drinking straw, etc. Some of these stuff can be considered "petty stuff" like no. 4. You'll save some money.
  7. Don't worry about winter gears. In my personal opinion, it's better to buy them here.
  8. Bring a camera.
  9. Bring spices, Adabi cubes (that sounded weird), chili sauce (Canada doesn't have it except in Chinatown), "kicap", etc. Most of these stuff are for seniors in Baldwin...kidding.
  10. Hair-cutting machine. I don't know its proper name so bare with me. Some of us do have them, but it's good if you can bring one for your house. Some of us need trimming (hint: Hero Gadis).
  11. Prayer times and compass.
I just make up the list as I go. Anything that popped into my head. Feel free to add anything.

Smile!

Bawak kain sejadah! Kemungkinan besar anda akan solat kt tepi jalan, kt tepi mall, kt tepi restoran, etc. Jgn risau, korang xkan solat tepi longkang sbb sini xde longkang.

Bak kata pepatah, "Tak de longkang tak de la sampah". Hai, I miss Malaysia.

Electric socket adapter. There is plenty(and cheap!) being sold at the local shop actually. Just useful in case there is need for charges immediately at airport, etc.

One more thing, bring your Taylor's lab coat and goggles. You don't have to buy new ones.
