Question #1:

So, Ive decided to majoring in International Relations and Anthropology as my minor. What Canadian Universities do you think would be good for me to enter?

I heard that Toronto is the best for Social Sciences, is that true?

everjihad: I guess, McGill is also best for Social science. But undeniable it also true that Uoft also have good reputation for Social Science course.

sweetbainin: I heard that UBC is actually one of the best for social sciences along with McGill university. I am not being bias here just because i attend UBC, definitely not. But i heard that it is so. UofT is also good for it. One of my friends attending UBC also said that UBC offers very good political sciences courses. Its up to u in the end.

antara U yg sng nk masuk adalah UofT..walaupun UofT antara U yg gempaq, tp nk msok mmg senang..average 80 jek..itu utk taun lepas..taun neyh xtaw la berape pulak tp maybe tinggi sket bcoz UofT skang no.8 worldwide..

everjihad: setaunya, yg tak high demant Trent University dan Carleton University. IELTS tak berapa tinggi. rasanya boleh cari post dekat blog anasfaris. Dia dah buat research dah dulu univ mane yg demanding ke x.

sweetbainin: Actually, semua uni snang nak masuk. As long as u meet JPA or MARA's requirement that is (make sure IELTS above 6.5). I know many students last year who was accepted into all the universities that they applied for. Again, asalkan memuaskan syarat2 pihak sponsor, you will have no problem at all.

ibnuazlan: In my personal opinion, it's not a good practice to always hope for the easy path. Don't make it a habit.

Choose the best university that offers the program that you are interested in applying, based on your ICPU results. Period. Don't think too much about the demand because if the university isn't going to put that load on you, most probably your job will. And definitely don't go to a particular university just because "my friends are going there".

It may be cliche, but the old saying, "Bersusah-susah dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian" has more truth in it than you think.

All the best in your future endeavours. My apologies is my wordings are harsh. Know that I didn't intend to hurt anybody's feelings. I speak based on experience.

 Why we have this OUAC application to go through? To be specific, what's the purpose? I really wanna know =)sorry if those questions seems insensible to you.

urmm, can you suggest to me some good business schools in Canada?

edkofarah: OUAC stands for Ontario Universities Application Center- khas untuk apply uni in Ontario Province jer. Marks ICPU akan dihantar kepada OUAC and then diorg akan forward to the applied uni..uni outside Ontario have to deal with pihak university sendiri.

sweetbainin: OUAC makes it easier for students to apply for all the universities in Ontario province rather than painstakingly try to apply one at a time. Not only that, it makes it easier for them to manage your marks and share it between all the universities rather than making you deal with each university personally. And not only that, instead of having 3 multiple applications, u have to have only one for 3 unis in Ontario. Jimat duit. =D

Pasal business, i cant say. Not a business student. However, business commerce in UBC is one of the toughest to get in. This may show that it could be really good. (i only know about UBC since i am in UBC anyways)

Question #4: 

Hi, I'm not sure what undergraduate degree's are suitable for me too apply for so I'll have enough credits when I apply for vet school. How can I check?

sweetbainin: At waterloo mmg ada malaysian students. But sponsored malaysian students, no. This is because JPA (and even MARA i think) dont allow us to go to waterloo on account that in waterloo, u have to go through a 5 year course since coop is a must.

For ouac, when do we have to pay the fees? After we submit the apllication, or wut?

Muhamad Syahmi: you can apply first,and pay the fees later , but if you want to review your application, you need to pay the fees. However, you still need to pay the fees before the deadline.

qayyum: kalo x lepas.. selalunya jpa bg sambung pengajian in malaysia's univeristy.. however, since icpu ends after uni kerajaan application da ttp.. so, selalunya pelajar akan pergi ke university swasta..

sweetbainin: Tlg la jgn pikirkan langsung kemungkinan perkara itu berlaku. Work hard for your best and think positively. Ape yg akan jadik akan datang, pikirkan di masa hadapan. Not now when u can still work it out.

which university in canada is the best place for electrical engineering?

qayyum: Ok, electrical engineering is under egineering course.. So, look for the best university that has the best engineering school.. And here is the list rank in descending order according to :

1) University of Toronto

2) University of British Columbia

3) McGill University

4) University of Alberta

5) McMAster University

Is the university will give the conditional offer...based on the 1st sem result..or 2nd sem mid term result???

qayyum: yes, the university will offera conditional offer based on ur first sem result.. and u have to get the minimum mark required in the conditional offer based on ur first and second sem..

AmmarX: As for conditional offer, it is an offer. But there are several conditions that you have to fulfill before you got the admittance into the university. It is not a guaranteed spot in the first place though.

akmal fahmi: Uni with the most Malay? Carleton University is your answer. With baby-like challenge in this university, you will have a very great time spending your money here. But if u like the hardcore type challenge, feel free to choose Toronto. Caution, this university is for the strong hearted only. Proceed with care.

Well, you know how baby can grow too right. So, the challenges in Carleton will grow exponentially with year.

aiman azlan: The most important thing is not to follow where your friends go. Don't make that the factor in your choice. Look for quality.

Mr. Muhammad: Don't choose Carleton University if you intend to improve your english.

Don Hambali: hahaha... ak pon nk post something gak kat sini... wait,the advise that i can give u guys who wanna listen to me advise is that go to the uni that most of ur best frends go... no offence aiman but i do think that frends are really undeniably important when u r so far away from ur freaking home...maybe u can say that u can live without ur frends... but trust me, once u get here - without frends, in which i mean close frends, u will regret the decision u made in the first place... i noe this kind of pain in the ass becoz i am the guy who made his decision to go to the uni that he wanted and not to the uni that most of his good frends go becoz he thought that his decision is the best... well, IT IS NOT!!! and i regret now, i regret it everyday... its not about the name that u shud be after... its the environment... a lot of good frends around to care and remind u always is definitely a good environment... to me at least...

takcoollah.zuhair:  yeh its true.. living in toronto may not be that easy, but its not all about acedemic.. its about living, the way u live ur life..there'r some advantages in toronto too.. lol>,<

Question #16:

for ouac, we can apply as many universities as we wish. So,let's say if we apply for 3 universities, is there any possibilities to get the offers from those three universities, or only one university among all?

amiir: yup it's possible to get all three offers from OUAC application if you have an excellent grade.

HOWEVER, you are allowed to choose ONE of them only. so when you're making decision, make sure you choose the best uni that fit with ur course..

Question #18: 

I will further my studies in degree of business administration or pentadbiran perniagaan. (according to JPA scholarship) However i am now having difficulties in choosing the field as most of the business schools in Canada only offer B.Comm. instead of B.business administration. I am wondering whether is it the same if i choose B.Comm instead of BBA cause i scare JPA wont recognise the degree(B.Comm.)

akmal fahmi: One wise word, "NO". If you think you don't need to get back to Malaysia in your first year, then feel free to choose the resident. The reason? Well, you will spend 90% of your monthly allowance to pay for the resident only.

In general,what university good for you?

everjihad: well, try ask yourself what are you finding for university? reputation? environement? it's all up to you to decide your goal and interest.

doesn't mean good university such university taht have high rank is good for you. not necessarily. but if u r person that love challenges, come in and get urself challenged.

some might feel, it's just enough as long they get university abroad, it doesn't necessarily which univ they are going. while some also might thing, 'alang2 dah pegi jauh, baik pegi univ yg bagus2, ada rank..'..

last but not least, consider jugak university yg nak pergi ni, is it really what you want? convinced u enough?

be sure with that so that you will not regret with any decision you make today. jangan merungut bila dah masuk sini, workload bnykla and so on..masa yg ada, research betul2. so that u are aware and know what to expect.

pemilihan universiti agak penting. it determine how your life will be in future. for muslims, don't forget to do istikharah while choosing which university will be your final choice. after all, just have faith in Him that that the best for you. tawakkal 'alallah. nothing will worry or make you down as Allah always give the best. the only thing, have we give the best we can?
