This is an e-mail I received from an Italian professor that teaches me Mechanics:
I hope that you have enjoyed the w-e and you are ready for another week at UofT. I want to remind you that lectures start exactly at 10' past the hour. As the lecture starts, the door will be closed and nobody will be allowed in until the first break. Sparse late arrivals are indeed very disruptive and will not be tolerated. If you are late and you find the door closed, you must wait outside the classroom until you will be invited to enter. As said in class, I always plan a short break after about 10 minutes of lecture. At that point, all late students will be allowed inside for the rest of the lecture. In order to avoid any misunderstanding on the time, be aware that I set my watch on the time provided by the UofT internet time server (chime.utoronto.ca).
